Photos: Sandy Rips Away Older Portion of Lindy Docks
But the newest repairs as a result of Irene hold steady.
Repairs to the Charles J. McCowan Marina (Lindy Docks) - as a result of Irene last year- were just completed ahead of Hurricane Sandy's arrival this week, and while those repairs and the new decking mainly held up against the storm's wrath and record eight-foot surge, the older portions were no match.
Those portions on the East side of the dock lay wasted in the wake of Sandy, forcing Village officials to have to shut the Marina down once again instead of holding a grand reopening to celebrate the completion of the new repairs.
Take a look through the Lindy Lens, as these pictures tell the story better than words ever could.
