Police ID LHS Student Arrested Monday after Classroom Brawl
Suffolk Police release the name of the 12th-grader who allegedly attacked an 11th-grader in a classroom on Monday.
Suffolk Police have released the name of the Lindenhurst teen who fellow student Christopher Meyer in a classroom on Monday morning.
John Magalios, 17, was arrested at following the alleged attack that sent Meyer to the hospital with a broken jaw, said police.
Magalios was charged with assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury, the SCPD and Inspector Gerard Gigante, commanding officer of the Suffolk Police precinct, told Lindenhurst Patch via e-mail on Friday morning.

"He was arrested at the scene, and brought to the First Precinct," the inspector told Patch on Thursday night.
"He was charged and released on station house bail. He has a court appearance next month," Gigante said.

According to a News 12 Long Island online report, Meyer was still in the hospital following surgery.
The report also indicated that " the student for five days, pending a superintendent hearing, which should happen sometime this week."
