Police Investigate Assault on N. Alleghany Avenue

Sunday night attack on Lindenhurst man is being investigated by the First Precinct Crime Section.

Suffolk Police are investigating a street on a man by two other unknown white males in their 20s on North Alleghany Avenue that happened on Sunday night.

Inspector Gerard Gigante, commanding officer of the SCPD's First Precinct, told Lindenhurst Patch that the man who was purportedly attacked suffered facial lacerations and was transported to in West Islip by the 's rescue squad.

The incident - which caused heavy police activity in the vicinity of the attack near North Alleghany and Charles Street that took place approximately 7:15 p.m. on May 6 - was classified as an assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, according to Gigante.

No arrests have been made, and no other information is available at this time, the inspector indicated.

However, he did say, "The First Precinct Crime Section is following up, and the matter is under investigation."
