Police: Lindenhurst Woman Crashes into Parked Vehicle

Suffolk Police officials say the early morning crash on Maple Drive resulted in one towed car.

A Lindenhurst woman who was driving a Chevy Suburban crashed into a parked vehicle early Wednesday morning in North Lindenhurst.

Suffolk Police said the 24-year-old female driving the Suburban wasn't injured in the two-car accident that took place at approximately 4 a.m., but the parked vehicle was towed from the scene.

She was traveling Westbound when she hit the stationary vehicle on the North side of the road, said police.

The primary cause of the accident was listed as "driver inattention," followed by "driver falling asleep," according to Captain Kevin Degnan of the SCPD's First Precinct.

No other people except for the driver of the Suburban were involved, and there was no arrest, he added.
