Nonprofits are Business Owners Too: A Panel Discussion

Whoggga, a Networking Community for Business Owners, hosted a panel discussion titled "Nonprofits are Business Owners Too!" at the Miller Business Center within the Middle Country Public Library on March 8th. The panel featured experts Melissa Firmes of Kids Need MoRE, Isaiah Grigg of Music Breeds, and Chanell Smiley of Smile More in Life Everyday, Inc. These non-profit leaders, each with 8-10 years of experience, shared insights on grassroots movements aimed at making positive impacts. The Miller Business Center, a free resource, offers invaluable support for small businesses seeking growth opportunities. Adam Holtzer, Whoggga's Co-Founder, moderated the event, guiding discussions on overcoming growth barriers, revenue streams, and funding obstacles faced by non-profits. Isaiah Grigg, a former Navy and NYPD officer, highlighted his mission to provide inclusive music programming, driven by his own childhood experiences. Chanell Smiley transitioned from corporate to non-profit work to address mental health treatment gaps, inspired by a desire for accessible care. Melissa Firmes addressed the critical need for support among young cancer patients, founding Kids Need MoRE to fill this need. Attendees not only gained practical advice but also found a supportive community at the Miller Business Center, fostering connections through Whoggga.
