Romanelli & Son to be Honored by Mayor's Beautification Society

Oil company to be recognized for keeping neat and clean appearances.

The Mayor's Beautification Society of Lindenhurst will honor Romanelli & Son as their 2013 Merchant of the Year award recipient.

The announcement from the society said the oil company will be recognized for their "well-kept and attractive appearance of its state of the art storage facilities and renovation of its new business offices on East Hoffman Avenue & Irmisch Avenue."

The company has been in business for more than 88 years in Lindenhurst, owned and operated by the Romanelli family to this day.

The company began in 1925 with Martino Romanelli delivering ice and expanded in the 1940's to include coal and kerosene, then to home heating oil and diesel fuel.

The annual Award Presentation and Luau will take place Thursday, August 15 at the Chateau La Mer from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Ticket donation will cost $45 per person, and only $25 for children 12 and under. Dinner includes a buffet, open bar, soda, coffee, tea, dessert, a DJ, dancing and more.
