A rash of car break-ins during the middle of the night have been reported by many residents in areas of southern Lindenhurst over the past few weeks.

A group of residents woke up Monday morning to find their vehicles on South Fourth Street broken into by thieves overnight, stealing whatever they could find from cars with open doors.

Middle School Suffers "Significant Cracks," Requires Emergency Fix

The Lindenhurst Middle School has sustained multiple "significant cracks" and requires emergency repairs, district officials said at last week's Board of Education meeting.

According to the district's engineer John Grillo, multiple cracks and leaks were found on the portion of the building where the Auditorium meets the original structure with steel support beams attaching it.

Lindenhurst Man Charged in $10M Long Island Burglary Ring

A Lindenhurst man faces up to 15 years in prison for his role in an advanced burglary ring that stole over $10 million worth of property from Long Island homes and businesses over the last three years.

Leonard Repka, 50, of Lindenhurst, was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property and Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property by the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York.

Fire Engulfs Home on E. Hoffman Avenue

Multiple fire departments fought a major blaze at a home on E. Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst, much of which was left heavily damaged once the smoke cleared.

The three-story home on fire is located at the corner of S. High Street.

Lindenhurst Family Charged in $1 Million Contracting Scam

A Lindenhurst family have been arrested for their alleged roles in a $1 million contracting scam in the tri-state area over the past nine years.

According to the Eastchester Daily Voice, Harrison (NY) Police alleged Anthony Delmaro, of Lindenhurst, with giving estimates and collecting payment for work that was never completed on homes and businesses.
