SpringFest Is in the Air, Lindenhurst!
The annual festival is set for May 4 to 6, rain or shine, and features rides, entertainment, vendors and lots of food.
Every year as the weather turns warmer, residents know is right around the corner.
This year is no exception, and today at 5 p.m. SpringFest once again takes center stage in the Village on Wellwood Avenue, attracting residents who want to enjoy some music, buy a knick-knack and have a good time.
The three-day event – sponsored by the – begins this evening with a midway featuring rides and games along Hoffman Avenue.

"There'll be lots of rides for all ages on Friday, Saturday and Sunday," said , Chamber president.
Residents will be able to enjoy SpringFest from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to Boettcher, adding the event will go on rain or shine.

On Sunday Wellwood Avenue will be closed to traffic during SpringFest to allow residents to visit stores and all sorts of vendors with arts and crafts up and down the street, from John Street to Gates Avenue.
They'll be able to admire some classic cars from Back in Time along the way that day, too, Boettcher noted.
All three days residents will be able to enjoy plenty of food options, too, from a host of vendors, including sausage and peppers and other hot dishes provided by , Boettcher noted.
The will be selling pretzels to raise money to help send underprivileged children go to summer camp, noted Boettcher.
And the will be there continuing its .
On Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., 1950s-style live music will be provided The Clusters, which features Lindy resident Paulie Gee on vocals.

In the Village Square the new will be open, but the new substation will not yet, according to Village officials. Finishing touches still have to made in so far the planting and lighting inside the gazebo, while the substation the requires a bit more work, according to the Village.
The Village will hold a grand opening ceremony at a later date in the near future when everything is ready, officials said.
In addition, the , and the Boy Scouts will be at SpringFest, according to Boettcher, who noted COPE officers will be on hand from the Suffolk County Police First Precinct all weekend to keep things safe.
"SpringFest is the first major outdoor festivity of the year in Lindenhurst. Everyone loves to come out and enjoy the festival, and it's great to see your neighbors, meet merchants and listen to music," she said.
