'Urgent Call' Prompts Monday's Blood Drive At Amityville Fire Dept.
The Amityville Fire Department is hosting a blood drive in conjunction with the New York Blood Center on Monday.

AMITYVILLE, NY — An "urgent call" for blood donations has been issued by the New York Blood Center after hurricanes ravaged parts of the United States and caused a "significant disruption" in blood collections.
On Monday, the Suffolk County community is rallying to boost blood donations at the Amityville Fire Department from 4 to 8:30 p.m.
According to the blood center, appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Those planning on donating blood must remember to eat, drink and bring ID.
