Village Warns of a Scam, Seeks Volunteers for Sat.

Village says beware of those posing as FEMA reps, and asks for volunteers at Shore Road Park on Saturday to help distribute donations to Lindenhurst Sandy victims.

The Village of Lindenhurst is alerting residents to be on the lookout for people posing as FEMA representatives.

Posing as FEMA Reps
"There were several reports of a couple knocking on doors posing as FEMA representatives for the purpose of obtaining your personal financial information," Village officials said in an update posted on www.villageoflindenhurst.com on Thursday night here.

All FEMA representatives have visible identification, officials noted, and do not ask for your personal information when going door to door.
