Police: Lindenhurst Man Hurt in Fiery Crash With Stolen Car


A Lindenhurst man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after being involved in a crash with a stolen car in Deer Park Sunday night, police said.

A passenger in a stolen vehicle was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred shortly after Suffolk Police called off a high-speed pursuit of the car, police said.

Police: Lindenhurst Man Drove Drunk with Child in Car


Suffolk County Police have arrested a Lindenhurst man for driving while intoxicated with his two-year-old son in the vehicle on Monday evening.

First Precinct officers responded to a reported domestic dispute 911 call on East Merritt Street in Lindenhurst on Monday evening around 9:40 p.m. Upon their arrival, police said they were advised that Gilbert Lopez-Silvero, 38, had driven away from the home with his two-year-old son in the car and was possibly drunk.

Lindy Cares Clean-Up Sweeps Up the Streets


The Lindenhurst Cares Coalition's "Clean Sweep" went off without a hitch on Sunday, even as cloudy skies loomed overhead.

Over 100 volunteers, including everyone from children to adults and village trustees to this Patch editor, came out to help in the effort to clean-up the village's streets.

Police: Lindenhurst Healthcare Worker Steals $81K of Jewelry


A home healthcare worker was arrested Friday for stealing more than $81,000 worth of jewelry from a 73-year-old Garden City resident, according to village police.

Garden City detectives report that Sara Cruz, 25, of Lindenhurst was employed as a home healthcare worker from Aug. 1-29.

Children Have a Blast at Rotary's Snapper Derby


The weather was just beautiful for the Annual Snapper Derby held Saturday, August 24 at the Lindenhurst Village Docks.  

The children lined up to register and immediately "hit the docks" for three hours off fishing and fun. All the children had their eyes on winning one of the three bicycles for First Place prizes.
