ATLANTIC BEACH, NY. — A Brentwood man faces DWI and assault charges Thursday after a Wednesday night crash in Atlantic Beach hospitalized multiple adults and an 11-year-old boy, police said.
Nassau County police said 30-year-old Job Giuliana was driving a 2020 Chevy Equinox eastbound on Beech Street, near the intersection with Scott Drive, Wednesday night, when his Equinox struck a westbound 2019 Chevy Traverse. The Traverse was being driven by a 52-year-old man with a 49-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy riding in the car as passengers, police said. Long Beach Fire department officials said Wednesday night that the crash had been determined to be a head on collision.
Giuliana suffered a severe injury to his left leg in the crash and was treated with a tourniquet, while the 52-year-old driver of the traverse suffered a laceration to his head, police said. Giuliana and the 52-year-old driver of the Traverse were taken to Mt. Sinai South Nassau, while the 11-year-old and his mother were airlifted in a police helicopter to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital in Manhasset, fire department officials said. The boy sustained severe body trauma in the crash, and the 49-year-old woman said she was experiencing body pain, police said.
