Long Beach Student Receives Full-Ride QuestBridge Scholarship
Long Beach Public Schools announced the scholarship award Tuesday.

LONG BEACH, NY. — As high school students around the country begin hearing responses to their college applications, Long Beach High School senior Aidan Tarsia received a special one: Tarsia will be able to enroll at Boston College next year after receiving a full-cost QuestBridge Match Scholarship.
Tarsia is one of just 2,550 students from across the country to receive the scholarship, which requires the completion of what district officials called a "highly rigorous" application process.
On its website, the QuestBridge Scholarship program is described as one that, "connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with a thriving community and transformative educational, career, and life opportunities that help propel them to lives of fulfillment, meaning, and purpose."

Tarsia will have the cost of tuition, housing, meals, books, supplies and travel over all four years of attendance covered by the scholarship, district officials said.
