34-Year-Old Drove While Intoxicated With 7-Year-Old In The Backseat: Police
The boy was sitting unrestrained in the backseat of the car when it was stopped, police say.
OCEANSIDE, NY. — A 34-year-old woman was caught driving while intoxicated with a 7-year-old boy in the backseat of her Nissan, police said.
According to Nassau County police, officers determined that Brooklyn resident Paula Gregg-Stanton, 34, had been driving while intoxicated after making a traffic stop just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police said they made the stop after they saw a 2015 Nissan driven by Gregg-Stanton swerving out of its lane. As they approached the car, police said they saw the 7-year-old boy sitting unrestrained in the backseat.
Gregg-Stanton was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated, one count of driving while intoxicated, one count of endangering the welfare of a child and multiple traffic and vehicle infractions, police said.

Her arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday. Police said the boy was released to a family member.
