Annual Jones Beach Breast Cancer Walk Set for Sunday

Thousands will descend on Wantagh's Jones Beach Boardwalk this Sunday morning for the American Cancer Society's annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

Rolling registration for the 5K charity walk will be taking place between 8-11 a.m. Sunday morning near Parking Field 5. As of Thursday morning, the Long Island chapter of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has raised $1,489,427 in donations toward the walk, according to itswebsite. Last year's walk at Jones Beach raised nearly $3 million toward breast cancer research. 

The American Cancer Society has held a breast cancer walk at Jones Beach each October since 1995. To register for Sunday's walk, click here.
