Body Found Floating In Island Park Ruled Homicide: Police

The man's body was located near a dock earlier this month, police said.

ISLAND PARK, NY — The death of a man, found earlier this month floating in the water off Island Park, has been ruled a homicide, police said.

The body was found on April 8 near a dock on Railroad Place.

The county's Medical Examiner's office said the victim sustained injuries consistent with being beaten and stabbed, police said.

The victim, described as a male black or hispanic, approximately 15-20 years old, has not identified.

He was 5'4’’ tall and approximately 130 pounds. He was found wearing clothing description a beige t-shirt with black lettering and black cargo joggers with tactical pockets.
