Catholic School Principal Given Key to City

Veronica Danca recognized by former LBCRS student and City Councilman John McLaughlin.

It's not every day—or even every year—that someone gets the key to the City of Long Beach.

But Veronica Danca, principal at Long Beach Catholic Regional School, was given the means to unlock Long Beach when Councilman John McLaughlin, a former student at the school, surprisingly visited LBCRS and handed her the key on Principal Appreciation Day on Nov. 17.

As faculty, staff and the entire student body looked on, McLaughlin commended Danca for her dedication to the students of LBCRS and for her support of student participation in many of the community’s charitable endeavors.

This year, LBCRS students “adopted” a wounded veteran and raised funds for the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors organization, and they are presently working with the Parish Outreach Program to collect food for the Thanksgiving holiday.
