Ceiling Collapses at Long Beach High School
Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department responds to scene.
A ceiling in a parking area at Long Beach High School collapsed Friday afternoon.
According to Nassau County’s Fourth Precinct, an extensive area of ceiling materials collapsed inside the east parking area of the high school, under the second story of the school, at 322 Lagoon Drive West in Lido Beach, at about 5:10 p.m. Friday.
The police department’s Emergency Services Unit and Canine Unit and Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department firefighters reported no injuries. The school was closed for spring recess.

The Town of Hempstead Building Department will respond to the scene to determine the safety of the structure and the site.
PLL Chief Brian Guerin was unavailable for comment Friday evening.
