Police ID Pedestrian Who Died After Being Struck By Mercedes In Nassau

He died on Saturday night in Island Park, police say.

ISLAND PARK, NY — A pedestrian who died in a Nassau crash this weekend has been identified.

Paul Silvio, 42, of Island Park, was crossing Austin Boulevard at the intersection of Saratoga Boulevard on Saturday night when he was struck by a 2001 Mercedes, police said.

Silvio was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The 27-year-old driver remained at the scene, authorities said.
