Drowning Man Suffering Heart Attack Rescued, Life Saved In Nassau: FD
The victim was given CPR and a defibrillator to restore his pulse on Tuesday afternoon, the Long Beach Fire Department says.
LONG BEACH, NY — A man was rescued from the water in Long Beach after suffering a cardiac arrest, the Long Beach Fire Department said.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the fire department received a report of a drowning at Lincoln Boulevard and the Ocean Beach Park, the Long Beach Fire Department said on Facebook.
Four members of the fire department entered the water, one on a surfboard and three were swimming to reach the victim and remove him, officials said.

Once brought to land, CPR was given, and a defibrillator was placed on the victim, the Long Beach Fire Department said.
He was placed on a stretcher and transported to an ambulance, where life support treatment was performed, the Long Beach Fire Department said.

The patient was taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau Emergency Department at Long Beach. He regained a pulse and was transferred to another hospital for treatment, the Long Beach Fire Department said.
Fire departments from Atlantic Beach, Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Inwood and Woodmere also assisted at the scene.
