Duo Caught With Stolen Mail Outside Nassau Post Office: Police
Police say an officer saw a woman "fishing" for mail from a mailbox early Wednesday morning.

Two people were arrested after an officer spotted a woman "fishing" for mail from a mailbox outside a Nassau County post office early Wednesday, police said.
According to Nassau Police, a Fourth Precinct officer was on patrol when he observed defendant Yoli Gomez Osoria, 27, standing in front of the Atlantic Beach Post Office at 2009 Park St. retrieving an object from inside a metal mailbox.
Osoria fled on foot, but was soon after placed into custody, police said. A device used to take mail out mailboxes was found in her possession, police said.

Osoria’s car, a 1999 Acura, was located nearby and 28-year-old Andrea Gomez was inside, police said. Stolen checks and multiple bills of forged U.S. currency were found in the car, police said.
Multiple pieces of stolen mail were also found in Gomez's purse, police said.

Osria, of the Bronx, is charged with two counts of first degree criminal possession of a forged fifth degree criminal possession of a stolen property and possession of burglar's tools.
Gomez, who lives at the same residence at Osria, is charged with two counts of first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, seven counts of fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and second degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both women will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
