LONG BEACH, NY — The Democrats faced a primary in the Long Beach City Council.

Challenger James Hodge (816 votes) took a slight advantage as votes were tallied on Tuesday night.

The three incumbents were in a close race.

Elizabeth Treston (807), Tina Posterli (749) and Karen McInnis (732) were looking to keep their seats. The top three winners advance to the general election in November.
