Long Beach Man Charged with Robberies
Police say Jamar Felder and accomplices stole from a store in Hempstead and two men in Freeport.
Jamar Felder, 23, of Long Beach was arrested and charged with robberies in Hempstead and Freeport.
According to Nassau County Police Department, Felder and two suspects entered the Mable Food Market, at 21 Steward Ave. in Hempstead, displayed a silver handgun and removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register and a box of cigars and fled the scene at 9:57 p.m. on Jan. 19.
On Feb. 1 at 10 p.m., Felder and two suspects approached two men, ages 19 and 21, and demanded money outside 188 Whaley St. in Freeport. While one suspect displayed a black handgun and another suspect displayed a silver revolver, Felder took a wallet with cash, personal papers and a cell phone from the men.

After a joint investigation with the NCPD’s Robbery Squad, First Squad and Third Squad, Felder was arrested without incident on Cooper Street in Hempstead on Feb. 8. He was charged with four counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree criminal use of a firearm. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday. The other suspects have not yet been arrested.
