Marines Drop Season Opener to Elmont

Football team takes 0-1 record to Great Neck South on Saturday.

Long Beach kicked off its football season in Elmont on Saturday afternoon but returned home without a score to show for it in a 6-0 loss.

The game’s only points came when wide receiver Ben Odugbesan turned a pass from quarterback Qusarn Caldwell into a 38-yard touchdown with 2:30 left in the second quarter.

The Marines visit Great Neck South at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17.
