Petros Krommidas, a Nassau County Legislative candidate, has been missing for 12 days.

BALDWIN, NY — After 12 long days without a sign of her son, a desperate Long Island mother is pleading for help to bring her boy home.
On Saturday, a major search effort commenced for Petros Krommidas, with dozens of volunteers, joined by members of Nassau County Community Emergency Response team, to scour the shoreline for any sign of him.
"While we did not find any evidence of Petros, we covered the entire island on foot including offshore in East Rockaway & Jones Inlets with drones," CERT wrote. "[Our] focus was to get out during the lowest tide to view the rocks and jetties."
