Boy Airlifted to NUMC after Motor Accident
Suffered leg injury at East Atlantic Beach intersection.

A young boy struck by a motorist in East Atlantic Beach was airlifted to a hospital after suffering a leg injury Thursday afternoon.
According to Richard Corbett, chief of the Long Beach Fire Department, a 9-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Beech Street and Rochester Avenue in the late afternoon on Nov. 8.
"The patient suffered a leg fracture," Corbett said.

A Nassau County police helicopter landed at a nearby beach club and transported the boy to the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.
"The patient was conscious and alert during the transfer," Corbett added.
