Rescue crews pulled a motorist from vehicle after a two-car collision at Monroe Boulevard and Broadway on Tuesday morning.
According to the Long Beach Fire Department, when firefighters arrived at the accident scene the first car was facing south in the westbound lane of East Broadway, and the second car had hit a pole at the intersection's northwest corner.
"We approached the sole female occupant of the first car and she was complaining of facial and leg pain, and the lone female driver of the second auto was complaining of back and neck pain," said LBFD 2nd Assit. Chief Antonio Cuevas.

When firefighters inspected the second car further, they upgraded their rescue to extricate the motorist due to the extensive damage to the driver's side door. The motorist was extricated within minutes of the fire department's arrival, Cuevas said.
An additional ambulance was required from Island Park Fire Department. Both patients were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
