Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Mercedes In Nassau Saturday Night: Police
The driver remained at the scene, police say.
LONG BEACH, NY — A man died after being struck by a vehicle in North Long Beach Saturday night, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 8:52 p.m.; a 42-year-old man was crossing Austin Boulevard at the intersection of Saratoga Boulevard when he was struck by a 2001 Mercedes driven southbound by a 27-year-old man, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff; the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.
