Police: 2 Men Threatened Cab Driver with Gun and Knife, Fled the Scene

One man fled the scene southbound on Virginia Avenue, the other westbound on Maxon Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are searching for two men who threatened a cab driver with a gun and knife and fled the scene Wednesday night.

According to a police news release, around 10:30 p.m., two male subjects armed with a black handgun and black knife, while in a taxi on Virginia Avenue, put a gun to the back of the cab driver’s head and demanded money.

A struggle ensued between the driver and the two subjects in the car, the release states.

The subjects then fled the scene, one southbound on Virginia Avenue, the other westbound on Maxon Avenue, according to the release.

No injuries were reported, and the amount taken is unknown, according to police.

The subjects are described as male Hispanics, 17-20 years of age, wearing dark clothing.
