Proposed Warehouse For Long Beach Met With Backlash: Report
Silver Rock Development would use dozens of trucks, causing some city leaders to say it would negatively impact the neighborhood.
LONG BEACH, NY — A proposed warehouse for Long Beach is being met with some criticism from the city.
Silver Rock Development LLC plans to renovate 750-790 Park Place for use as a distribution hub, where up to 50 trucks are expected to make daily routes to Kennedy Airport and Long Island, Newsday reported.
However, any jobs that Silver Rock could bring to Long Beach are being offset by the potential for noise and air pollution.

The estimated cost of purchasing the vacant, 75,100-square-foot building and for upgrades to the facility would be $13.8 million, according to Newsday.
The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency approved the land deal, but it can't go forward without Long Beach's blessing.
