Surf Scenes: Riding High Before Irene
A photo gallery of surfers in Long Beach taking advantage of the bigger hurricane-generated swells.
Never let a hurricane go to waste. That's the mindset of surfers, and their thinking was no different as Hurricane Irene made her way up the coast and struck Long Island last weekend.
Long Beach photographer Christina Tisi-Kramer was on the beach last Saturday, the day before the storm wreaked havoc on Long Beach, and pointing her lens on the surfers riding the swells. Patch is showcasing some of Tisi-Kramer's surf scenes in this today’s Viewfinder gallery of photos. This regular feature aims to put a lens on the many attractive and interesting scenes throughout the bustling beach town, with its distinct neighborhoods and diverse population.
If you have photos of city scenes that you would like us to consider for our Viewfinder gallery, please email them — along with descriptive captions — to josephk@patch.com. Photos must be sent with the photographer's permission.
