On Veterans Day the Long Beach Senior Center and Magnolia Senior Center are closed; Recreation Center is open. Long Beach buses are on a holiday schedule.
BOE Meeting
The Long Beach Board of Education will meet at the Middle School auditorium 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Watercolor Painting Workshop
The Mermaid Art Studio, 891B W. Beech St., will host a watercolor workshop in which students will learn a wide range of painting techniques from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The class is $25. Beginners welcome.

Health and Wellness Fair
Long Beach Reach will host "Do Better, Be Better" Health & Wellness Fair for Hurricane Sandy survivors at St. Mary’s of the Isle Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. For information, call Long Beach Reach at (516) 889-2332 (ext. 40).
Steel Horse Rocks Speakeasy
Steel Horse, a Long Beach-based band that plays hard rock covers from Led Zeppelin to Alice in Chains, will perform at Speakeasy, at 1032 W. Beech St, Friday starting at 10 p.m.
