Watch: Long Island's Largest Pride Event Comes To Oceanside

"It is a massive celebration of creativity, diversity and pride," Halo's Kyle Savage said of the June 14 event.

OCEANSIDE, NY — One of only two LGBTQ bars on Long Island is ready to experience Pride Month. Halo of Oceanside will have a 12-hour event later this month.

This year's celebration is even more special for the South Shore nightclub, which is battling to remain open.

Co-owner Kyle Savage launched a GoFundMe to help gain support amid Halo facing an eviction from its landlord last month.

Halo has been behind the eight ball since a delayed opening in early 2024 due to a filing mishap with the State Liquor Authority.

"During that time, our landlord was still insisting that we pay rent for eight consecutive months, even though we were not in the space," Savage told Patch.

An attempt to get a concession from the landlord was denied.

"It's constantly been a game of playing catch up," he said.

While Halo is able to keep the lights on for now, Savage hopes the LGBTQ community will rally to save the Long Beach Road club.

"This is what we created for you, now it's your turn to show up for us," Savage said as an appeal to his loyal customer base.

Halo is open for business from Thursday- Sunday, but all eyes will be on Saturday, June 14, for Long Island largest Pride event with its second annual Rainbow Renaissance Pride and Museum Festival.

"It is a massive celebration of creativity, diversity and pride," Savage said.
