Officers say they found a loaded weapon during the investigation.
WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — A Baldwin man faces felony charges after a trio of arrests were made in West Hempstead Wednesday night, police say.
According to Nassau County police, officers responded to a call on Grand Avenue just before 8:30 p.m., finding a crowd of people around a white 2016 BMW. Upon turning on their lights, police say 24-year-old Roosevelt resident Tyrese Ashley fled the area on foot while 21-year-old Baldwin resident Jonathan Romage put the BMW in reverse in an effort to leave the scene.
Romage was stopped by officers, at which point police say he began reaching toward a bag he was wearing — and a physical struggle ensued. Romage was placed into custody with help from additional officers, authorities said.
