Baby Found Dead In Lower East Side Apartment, Say Police

Officers were called to the Orchard Street home when the infant was discovered unconscious Friday morning, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A 9-month-old baby was found dead in a Lower East Side apartment on Friday, police said.

Officers were called to the Orchard Street home between Houston and Stanton streets when the infant was discovered unconscious at 7:28 a.m. When police arrived, the baby boy, Princeton Coaxum, was found unresponsive. Coaxum was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and a police investigation is ongoing.
