Bicyclist Dies On Manhattan Bridge After Hitting Head: Police
A man biking on the Manhattan Bridge died Sunday after he passed out and struck his head on a support beam, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A man biking on the Manhattan Bridge died Sunday after he passed out, fell off his bike and struck his head, police said.
Prospect Heights resident Phillip Ginsberg, 36, was rolling toward Manhattan on the bridge's bike path with a group of cyclists when he suddenly lost consciousness just after 1 p.m. and fell from his bike, according to police.
Ginsberg – who was wearing a helmet at the time – hit his head on one of the bridge's support beams. First responders attempted to revive him, but Ginsberg did not regain consciousness, authorities said.

Police believe he may have suffered some sort of medical condition that caused him to black out. Paramedics took Ginsberg to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Lower Manhattan where he died.
The city's Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine Ginsberg's cause of death.
