Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. A man was seriously injured when he was struck by a subway in Lower Manhattan. Police say that the man sustained life-threatening injuries at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the Canal Street station. It is unclear at this time how the man ended up on the tracks. (CBS New York)
  2. Resident on the corner on Stanton and Ludlow streets have been forced to contend with the G-Knows Cheesesteak food truck parked outside of their buildings. The truck has apparently had free reign over a No Standing Anytime zone on the block. It was until after dozens of calls to 311 and the 7th Precinct that the truck moved, albeit just across the street. The smell and the noise have been disruptive to the neighborhood. (Bowery Boogie)
  3. An Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage took CitiBike offline during rush hour on Wednesday morning. The disruption in service occurred shortly after 7 a.m., and continued until after 9 a.m. The AWS outage was tied to a data center failure in Virginia. (Gothamist)
