  1. 25-year-old homeless man Paulie Velez was arrested and charged in Chinatown on Saturday morning for the violent sexual assault of a jogger in Central Park. Velez is accused of choking and sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman as she ran through the park, which spurred a massive NYPD investigation. Velez faces charges of rape, robbery, strangulation, assault, sex abuse and criminal possession of stolen property. (AMNY)
  2. Dennis Fredricks of the Bronx was arrested in Bergen County, New Jersey, after shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the neck on the Lower East Side. Hours after the shooting, the suspect approached an elderly man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven and stole his SUV. Fredericks crashed into multiple vehicles before attempting to flee on foot. (Daily Voice)
