Here are the top three stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. Murder and burglary charges await the suspect in the Feb. 13 killing of 35-year-old Christina Yuna Lee at her Chrystie Street apartment. After a brief standoff with police officers, 25-year-old Assamad Nash was taken into custody by the NYPD. The suspect had been out on supervised release after being arrested three times in four months for an array of crimes. (amNY)
  2. A vigil was held for 35-year-old Christina Yuna Lee in the wake of her murder. The gathering was held across the street from the crime scene to honor Lee, as well as mourn the victims of other recent anti-Asian hate crimes. (NBC New York)
  3. Free COVID home test kits are being distributed at the Seward Park Library on East Broadway. The program was announced across the city over the weekend, and the hours are Monday through Friday, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be a limit of one test per person, per day. (Bowery Boogie)
