  1. For those interested in becoming more involved in community matters, now is your chance. New York's borough presidents recently announced open applications for membership in the city's 59 community boards. Applications for this role will be open until March 1. (The Lo-Down)
  2. The Hannah Traore Gallery at 150 Orchard St. recently launched its first show, titled "Hues." Owner and curator Hanna Traore's goal was to provide a space for and give a voice to artists of color who have "traditionally been left out of the conversation." (ARTnews)
