Here are the top stories in Lower East Side-Chinatown today:

  1. The temporary restraining order on the destruction of East River Park remains in effect as two new lawsuits are brought to court. A lawsuit raised by local contractor Tully will argue that the only other bidder on the project, IRC Resiliency Partners, could not have rightfully met the experience criteria to win such a bid. Winning this lawsuit would make the current contract void, and would force IRC to re-bid, thus restarting a process which took a year. (The Village Sun)
  2. A 45-year old man was shoved onto the subway tracks at the Chambers Street station. The assailant pushed him from behind, while there was luckily no train approaching. The suspect fled immediately after the attack and has yet to be identified. (New York Post)
