Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. The walls of a Lower East Side community center have increasingly become eyesores due to graffiti. The Grand St. Settlement’s Youth Center at NYCHA’s Seward Park Houses have been vandalized six times in the past three months, and surveillance cameras have captured pictures of the vandals. Site director Laura Li hopes to hire a local artist to replace the graffiti with a beautiful mural. (WPIX 11 New York)
  2. The Mayor’s Office of Climate Resiliency recently released their Climate Resilience Master Plan, which is projected to total $7 billion. The project has been subject to controversy from its inception, as construction crews have begun to demolish the beloved East River Park. (6sqft)
