Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:
- Among many other complaints regarding the East Side Coastal Resiliency, activists are calling for the preservation of two historic buildings in East River Park. One is the park's tennis center comfort station, while the other is the track house, both of which were built in 1939. It is important to note that both structures are eligible for the National and State Register of Historic Places. (The Village Sun)
- Heavy machinery arrived and began digging up the tennis courts at Seward Park on Essex Street. The area where the courts are located will undergo a complete overhaul, and the new design will feature a new soccer field, tennis court, and a handball court. There will also be a new outdoor fitness area, and construction could last up to six months. (Bowery Boogie)
