Ice Cream Sales Support Refugees At LES Restaurant Wednesday

Lower East Side restaurant Les Enfants de Bohème will donate a portion of its ice cream sales Wednesday for World Refugee Day.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Lower East Side restaurant Les Enfants de Bohème will donate a portion of its Adirondack Creamery ice cream sales Wednesday for World Refugee Day.

Known for its unique scoops, the upstate New York-based Adirondack Creamery makes 17 flavors including black raspberry, banana chip and caramel apple.

Last October, the creamery launched a Syrian date and walnut flavor for which 50 percent of the proceeds are donated to the International Rescue Committee to aid Syrian refugees. The flavor was inspired by the middle-eastern treat Ma’amoul, a shortbread pastry filled with dates and nuts enjoyed by Syrians on religious holidays.
