An employee of a grocery store and food market on the Lower East Side was stabbed outside his store on Sunday night, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A knifeman stabbed an employee of a Lower East Side food market in the arm on Sunday, after the employee told the man he couldn't enter the store, police said.
The knifeman, who remains on the loose, was outside the Big Apple Food Market at 219 East Broadway on Sunday at about 5 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said. When he tried to enter the store, an employee told him he couldn't enter and blocked his way. The man then stabbed the store employee in the arm and ran from the area, police said.
The employee's injuries were not life threatening, according to the NYPD. Police are still searching for the knifeman.
