LES Sweet Chick Shuttered After Department Of Health Inspection
The chicken and waffles joint was forced to close briefly after the city discovered a whopping 86 health violations.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — The Department of Health shuttered the Lower East Side location of chicken and waffles mini-chain Sweet Chick following an inspection that found evidence of mice.
The Sweet Chick outpost at 178 Ludlow St. was briefly closed last week after city health inspectors discovered a whopping 86 health violations on Dec. 19.
Inspectors found evidence of mice and food preparation or storage areas contaminated by sewage or liquid waste, according to Department of Health and Mental Hygiene records.

Some foods were also stored at temperatures that did not meet health and safety standards, records show.
The Sweet Chick location has had a rough year including going months without gas and dealing with electrical issues.
