  1. An emotionally disturbed, knife-wielding man is hospitalized after being tased and arrested. The 25-year-old assailant was harassing elderly people with two butcher's knives near "The Butcher's Daughter" on Kenmare Street before he was successfully taken into custody. An officer witnessed the struggle and fired a shot that luckily did not cause any harm to passersby. (WABC-TV)
  2. Artist Michelle Repiso is taking her "Basic Necessities" installment on Broome Street one step further. The 6-month-old multimedia project tackles "three individuals and the mechanisms they used to sustain their humanity while incarcerated."
