  1. Ludlow Coffee Supply is paying tribute to the iconic Lower East Side artist Ed Higgins III. Higgins passed last month at the age of 72 after living in the same Ludlow Street apartment since 1976. His artwork has become a staple of street art on the Lower East Side, namely his "wingnut" design. (Bowery Boogie)
  2. Empire Cannabis Club proclaims itself to be the city's first cannabis dispensary, though technically speaking, the owners are "selling club memberships." The flagship location opened in Chelsea in September 2021, and have since expanded to a second location on the Lower East Side. Management has maintained that they are operating fully within New York State law. (Spectrum News NY1)
