Man Shot Twice in Leg Outside Rutgers Houses, in Stable Condition: Police

He told authorities he felt a pain in his left leg, and then he realized he had been shot.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was shot twice in the leg outside Rutgers Houses during the early hours of Wednesday morning around 4:45 a.m., an NYPD spokesperson said. The victim was taken to the hospital were his wounds were pronounced non-life-threatening, the spokesperson said.

The 30-year-old victim said he was walking outside at 45 Rutgers St. when he heard gunshots and felt a pain in his left leg. He realized he had been shot twice in the left leg and saw two people run away from him on foot, he told police.

There are no arrests or suspect descriptions yet, the NYPD spokesperson said. The investigation is ongoing.
