Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. An MTA worker was attacked with his own dustpan during a feud in the Delancey-Essex station. The 51-year-old man was assaulted during a dispute over subway fare and was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be serious or life threatening. The suspect fled the scene, and as of Monday no arrests had been made. (New York Post)
  2. Three protestors at were arrested at East River Park while protesting the ongoing construction. The protesters were arrested at the Amphitheater after slipping behind one of the fences blocking off the work zone. Attorneys for the activists' cause met in court on Monday morning in a desperate attempt to halt the work. (The Village Sun)
  3. The new, downsized Jing Fong opened this week at 202 Centre St. The restaurant, though smaller, still offers nearly the same menu as the infamous Jing Fong dim sum hall on Elizabeth Street. The reopened eatery will temporarily remain take-out only. (Bowery Boogie)
